Ozark
Riverview Manor's Rehabilitation Department offers Physical Therapy,
Occupational Therapy, and Speech/ Language Therapy.
Becky Crocker, P.T.,
D.P.T., has been a practicing Physical Therapist since 1971 in a variety of settings spanning the
scope of the physical therapy profession as well as spanning the generations from pediatrics to geriatrics.
After practicing physical therapy for 31 years, Becky returned to Creighton University and
obtained the Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2002.
Becky
is currently a full time instructor and Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education
(ACCE) for Ozarks Technical Community College, Physical Therapist Assistant program in Springfield, MO.
In September 1, 2004, thanks to
the flexibility of her schedule, Becky took over the job of directing the Physical
Therapy services offered to our residents.
Jo
Lynn Thornton, M.S. O.T.R., has been a practicing Occupational
Therapist for 30 years after graduating from Boston University in
1975.
Jo Lynn has served in all aspects of her field. She has had a
contract with the Missouri Department of Education since 1981 to
serve the needs of severely handicapped children. Her
work with geriatric and rehabilitation clients started in
1979.
Working with the residents in long-term and residential care
facilities is the service Jo Lynn most enjoys. She has been
our Occupational Therapist since 1991.
Jo
Lynn is married with twins age 23 and 1 grandchild. Originally
from Cape Girardeau, MO, she has lived in Springfield since 1978.
Vicki Thrift, M.A., CCC- S.L.P. has been a Speech Pathologist for 22
years. She graduate with her Masters degree from Southwest
Missouri State University. During her study she worked as a
Speech Therapist in public schools and hospitals.
Vicki
worked in head trauma rehabilitation at the Missouri Rehabilitation
Center for 6 years. During that time she was the Director of
the Speech Pathology and Neurological Rehabilitation
department.
About
15 years ago Vicki discovered a love for working with the
elderly. She has been working in long term care and
residential care settings since then. Her focus is on
communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.
Vicki has written a structured program for Alzheimers units and
given numerous presentations to various organizations.
Vicki
has been our Speech Therapist for the past 5 years.
